Tasting Notes:
Dark notions of candied violet, boysenberry preserves, savory spices and dark bitter chocolate are present on the nose. The palate shows contrasting characteristics to the nose, showing more red fruits, floral tones with a sappy herb quality. The wine blossoms with air, becoming richer and more integrated while retaining its structure and acid complex.
Winemaker Notes:
A newer varietal for Orfila. This Northern Italian varietal is grown near Paso Robles in San Luis Obispo County. It’s dark and structured with firm tannins. We will see how it ages but right now it shows promise.
